I've known I wanted to play water polo since 6th grade, the year I saw my first water polo game. Unfortunately, at the time, there weren't any water polo clubs in the San Antonio area that had practices for the younger ages, so I had to wait. I started playing water polo my freshman year of high school, in the middle of Covid. The opportunities to play were minimal, but we found a club about an hour away at the end of my freshman season that I was able to play for through the summer.
Due to my club experience, I was a starter my sophomore year for my high school team and haven't been out of the water since. Halfway through my sophomore year, our club merged with AAAA Water Polo. At the time, it was the new and only water polo club in San Antonio and I have been growing along with it ever since. I have now been selected for my club's new National Program, giving me access to higher-level practices to improve even further.
I do my best in all that I do, working hard no matter the area of my life and listening to those who try to help me. I've trained extremely hard to get to where I am today, and have only been able to make it as far as I have because of my work ethic and the amazing coaches who continue to push me to develop my skills.
I love water polo and wish to continue playing in college no matter where I go. At the same time, my academics are extremely important to me and I wish to pursue a degree in biochemistry, hopefully leading to a job in biochemical research. I’m looking for a college or university that will challenge me academically and athletically, helping me to continue what I love while I become a better person and athlete.
