When I was in 1st grade, my dad wanted all of my siblings and I to know how to defend ourselves in an emergency so he had us all join a wrestling club. I have two sisters and one brother and we all ended up wrestling up until middle school. I loved wrestling boys because at this age, I was stronger than them and could win the majority of my matches. After winning state twice in 7th and 8th grade, I stopped wrestling for 2 years and didn't start again until my junior year in high school. I have played softball since I was 9, and also played flag football for two years, but wrestling has always been a part of me. It has taught me self-reliance, discipline, and has built my character.
