Personal Statement

Hello,

My name is Abbigail (Abby) Wold. I am seeking opportunities to further my education and wrestling career. As a student athlete I am wanting to compete at the highest level on the mat and in the classroom.  I want to major in Psychology and pursue a career where I can help other people.  I work hard in everything I do, from learning new techniques on the mat to helping design a rocket that flies a mile high at speeds of mach 1.  Growing up with my 4 sisters we developed a strong bond and competed against each other to be the best from school to who could swing the highest , that relationship with them still drives me to be the best I can be.

I have competed the last 3 years on varsity and have qualified for the Colorado State Championships two times, and finished 4th in my 190lbs weight class at the 2024 state tournament. Wrestling as been a natural process for me. I started wrestling my sophomore year, and over the last 3 years have found a true love and passion. The thrill of the win and agene of defeat both drive me to be better. Each match, and every practice allows me to develop to be the best wrestler I can be and I value those opportunities.

During my high school career I have ventured into many activities that helped me become the person I am today. I was a student mentor in my schools Link Crew program. I am a Rotary student of the month. I participate in the Systems Go Program, where we build and design rockets! Along with wrestling I competed in Varsity Track and Field as a shot put thrower.

With me you get a leader, a hard and determined worker. I want to help others with mental health, while I crush my opponent on the math. I practice sportsmanship and class, I know I would do your program well and be the student athlete you want on your team.

Please feel free to reach out and speak to me!

Good luck to you and your program this upcoming season and I look forward to hearing from you

Abby Wold
