I have been running since I was in 2nd grade. During the pandemic, when sports were cancelled, I started working out at the gym. When sports resumed at school, I made the volleyball team, basketball team and was team captain for track in 8th grade. I made the varsity track team during my freshman year, running short distance. As a sophomore, I am running long distance on the varsity team. In the winter of my sophomore year, I went out for the wrestling team. Combining with our local high schools, we formed the first girls wrestling team in Springfield. I placed at our first All-Girls tournament in Jacksonville, IL.
I would like to pursue a career in the forestry/fire science field i want to be a wild-land firefighter. i am a dedicated athlete and I leave it all on the mat. I am not afraid to try new things. I am self motivated and driven. In the off season, I continue to train at the gym.
Growing up, I watched my mom pursue her dream of a college education while raising me and my sisters and working multiple jobs to give us a brighter future. She taught me the importance of hard work and chasing my dreams. Following my high school career I want to continue to play sports and make my mom proud.
