My name is Alivia Ming from Vienna, IL and I am interested in attending a great college where I can continue to compete in wrestling. I am a second year member of the Goreville - Vienna co-ed wrestling team. This year my record was 20-22 with a first place win at the 2022 Girls Sectionals in Peoria, then at Girls State in Bloomington I took 4th place, with plans for a higher placement next year. This off season I am attending two camps to help expand my knowledge even more. Also I plan to get my referee license as I fell it will give me a better understanding of the rules and thus making me a better athlete. Junior year as a team captain I plan to continue to support my teammates and coaches in having a successful season. I plan to continue to grow and mature as an athlete in this sport and as a person. Academically I hold a 5.0 GPA, my class rank is 1 of 79, I am in honor roll and Beta Club. Out of the sophomore class I am one of four students to be awarded into the Shawnee Community College Escrow Scholarship Program based on my grades, ranking and a Accuplacer test. Starting this summer I will begin taking College courses with ambitions to graduate high school with not only honors but also an associates degree. My plans for the future are not set in stone yet but I plan to either study Law or business. I am looking forward to this process and appreciate the opportunity to be part of it.
