My name is Lauren Phillips I'm a senior from oak Grove High school. I've grown up watching my brother wrestle and would always pick fights with him just so we could wrestle in the living room. I might not have ever won but it was my first introduction into the sport I have grown to love. In seventh grade I decided to wrestle for the middle school team so I could be like my brother. Once I got to high school I was the only female wrestler and I started to get annoyed by having no other female wrestlers so I started recruiting. The next year we finally had enough girls to call ourselves a team. The feeling of knowing that I helped create history has been one of my biggest accomplishments. My goal in college is to continue to make personal accomplishments and become the best wrestler I can be.
