Hi! I am Maddie Fosmoe and I just completed my second year of varsity wrestling. I'm still a newer wrestler, but have made significant improvement over the year. Some of my accomplishments for this year include: being selected as team captain by my teammate, winning 29 matches with an 83% wins by fall, being conference champs again, and finishing 7th at Wonder Woman! Wrestling has definitely become my favorite sport that I've competed in. As a multi-sport athlete, I realize the effort, dedication, and willpower that is required to succeed and wrestle at the college level. My speed, strength, flexibility, agility, and ability to listen and learn have helped me pick up wrestling skills fairly quickly. My coach says I am a natural and continually encourages me to wrestle in college! I believe that with continued hard work and training I have what it takes to be a great candidate for college wrestling. I plan to continue to push myself over the summer by signing up for a club wrestling again and by competing as much as possible. I also have 11 years of experience in competitive gymnastics with 8 consecutive years as a state qualifier. I have seven years of experience playing competitive soccer. I've also competed and medaled in high school powerlifting before the pandemic. Academically, I have a 3.88 GPA and I am enrolled in accelerated math classes and AP classes. I completed the Missouri A+ program. I also volunteer in the community and have volunteered for our church. My undergraduate academic plan is to major in Pre-Physical Therapy or Pre-Physician Assistant. I am certain that I will be a successful student-athlete.
