Going into my freshman year I did wrestled as a “fun sport to do” after a teammate on my cross country team recommended it to me. Little did I know it would change my life for the better. The moment I stepped on the mat to my first practice was amazing. That’s when I knew I wanted to be a state champion and do wrestling for a long time. My freshman and sophomore year I was a 2 time state qualifier for cross country. For wrestling my sophomore year, I was a 5th place state placer, and academic all-state. I continued this reputation through my junior year accomplishing 4th in state for both cross country and wrestling. I went into track determined to place, but sadly a stress-fracture interrupted that. My goals this year consist of being a state champion in cross country, wrestling, and track. I hope to inspire the younger generation of athletes and always encourage them to join as many sports as they can because they never know if they’re going to fall in love with their sports the way I did.
