I aim to be the very best in every aspect of my sport. I focus on all the positions, learning not only the moves I intend to make my own but the moves that my opponents will perform against me so that I am better prepared to defend against them. I am motivated to put in any and all extra work, lifting every morning before school and doing extra conditioning after practices. I am not competing solely as an individual, however. I aspire to be a great captain for my high school team, I offered Google Meets for those who wished to participate so that they may stay in shape when the pandemic hit, I often set up team lifts and runs, and encourage my teammates to be 1% better every day. I have given private lessons to one of the girls on the team who aspires to improve, and I try to grow the sport through social media and by talking about it to anybody who will listen. I am a good candidate for your team because I always give 120% effort, every day, every workout, every practice. I am coachable and respect my coaches, trying to learn everything I can from them. I encourage my teammates to stay on top of their academics and to push themselves during practice. I have had good grades my entire high school career, and I maintain these grades by studying, doing all the work on time to the best of my ability, and seeking help from teachers and peers if I need it. I believe that good things come to those who work for it, and I am putting in the work everyday. I strive to cultivate a competitive, disciplined, and supportive environment for my team, and I will look to join a college team where I can find that same environment to work in.
I believe in discipline in every aspect of life. I may not always enjoy it, but the work must be done for academics. I study hard outside of classes, I do all my classwork on time, and I participate in class, getting help after school from teachers or peers if I need it. Discipline is also paramount in athletics, especially wrestling. I lift every morning, adding weight to the bar as often as possible. I push myself very hard in practices, attending as many off-season events as possible. I believe it is the extra ten minutes of drilling after practice, the extra video study, the extra time spent going over moves in my head, that will allow me to achieve success in my sport. I am not on your team to play games, have a fun four years, or get a cheaper education. I am very serious about this sport and growing it across the world, and strive to be a virtuous role model worth looking up to for young girls (and boys).
