I started wrestling initially in 6th grade when my family lived in West Virginia, I wrestled for Shady Spring Middle School. Later that year, 2019, my grandfather passed away, so we moved back to Orrville Ohio to help with my grandma. I didn’t have the ability to continue wrestling in 6th grade and didn’t know how to sign up in 7th grade, but I attended open mats. In 8th grade I officially started wrestling for orrville where I held the 142 middle school spot and had a losing record against the boys. Over the summer of 2022 I attended open tournaments and by my freshman year girls wrestling was sanctioned and my coaches were able to take me to a few girls tournaments. My sophomore year I was able to recruit more girls for the team and we developed a schedule with many girls tournaments eliminating the need for the females to compete against the boys, despite this I occasionally wrestle in boys divisions at open tournaments. My collegiate goals, as far as wrestling goes, don’t necessarily include being a champion or always being on a podium. My goals include developing my character, building mental and physical toughness, an impeccable work ethic, and being someone people look up too. As far as academics go, I hope to never stop learning and to build new, useful, unique skills.
