I started wrestling this past year and I intend to continue at a collegiate level. Wrestling has taught me patience, respect, discipline, personal responsibility, perseverance, and mental grit. I have always wanted to challenge myself in new ways.
In the classroom I’m attentive, detail oriented, and highly opinionated. As a student I know it is good to be attentive so I know what I’m doing in class. Attention to detail is important to me so I do not miss any large or small aspects of the curriculum. Aside from being attentive and detail oriented, I am a very opinionated student, in order for me to be a stay engaged I must communicate with teachers and peers. All in all, I am a proficient student that tries to soak in all the important information I can while doing my best to understand.
One day I reached out to my parents about wrestling and my parents were happy to see me wanting to try a sport I have had a genuine interest in for years. My parents reached out to our local wrestling club and I was welcomed with open arms. It took me time to notice that if I put in hard work, I will get results. I strive to be a good teammate, peer, and friend.
I’m very coachable, hard working, and I intend to be a good role model for younger female wrestlers. I’m still learning what my strengths and weaknesses are. I like to push myself out of my comfort zone and encourage my fellow teammates. I believe it’s important to treat people how you would like to be treated.
I work hard in and out of school and I plan to continue pushing myself academically and on the mat. I’m open to all colleges no matter how far from home it will be. I want to find a college that is right for me in all aspects and I want to thrive in my environment.
