Janessa Esquivel '25 Recruiting Profile

Hey there colleges!! My name is Janessa and since my sophomore year of highschool I have loved wrestling. I originally wanted to wrestle freshman year but due to injury I could not. I wrestle for bear river highschool in Utah and just recently got introduced to freestyle and greco! I have qualified for state every season, placing third my junior year and hopefully higher for senior! The 2024 spring season was my freestyle season and I took 2nd at state and qualified for Fargo! I've always been notorious for my determination and heart of a lion. I give my all every practice and strongly believe that hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard. I've always recognized as one of the hardest workers in the room and I love the feeling of pushing myself to the limits! I've also played soccer my entire life and have great stamina and control! I also think my mental game is what gives me advantage in my abilities. My goal is to wrestle at the next level and I would love to further my career both in the classroom and on the mat!!
