Hi, My name is Nadia Fuentes and I will be graduating class of 2025. Wrestling has been more than a sport for me, it has been a journey of growth, preserverence, and self-discovery. My path to wrestling started when I was 7 years old with Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. That foundation introduced me to Judo, MMA, and Kickboxing. Eventually it inspired me to join wrestling in high school. I began wrestling my sophomore year, a decision that changed my life. At the time, the "girls" wrestling team consisted of just me and one other female wrestler. Moving into my Junior year I was selected as Team Captain and happy 9 more girls joined the team! Now, I am a Senior, still Captain and we have a full roster and then some!!
Coming into the sport my sophomore year, I had the least amount of experience among my teammates, which was both intimidating and motivating. I refused to let the lack of experience define me and found myself dedicated to improving everyday, soak in all the opportunities to learn, grow, and compete. I challenged myself to be better than the day before, both on and off the mat.
Wrestling is as mentally demanding as it is physical, and it has become a cornerstone of my personal development. It has taught me to be resilient, disciplined, and showed me rewarding results of consistent effort.
Throughout my high school career, I have competed in weight classes ranging from 107-126lbs. No matter the challenge, I approach each match with determination and give 100% effort, the same dedication extend to my academics.
As I look ahead to college, I am eager to compete at the collegiate level, where I can push myself further as an athlete and student. I am ready to continue this journey and embrace new challenges alongside like minded teammates and make a meaningful impact on and off the mat!!
Thank you
