My name is Emma Crichton I am the first female wrestler at Shoshoni High School. I participate in USA wrestling and school sponsored wrestling. I am also on a women’s national team for Wyoming. I do this sport to show other girls that we as females are capable of doing the things boys do. I want to show others the determination and dedication that I have while participating in a male dominated sport. The biggest impact wrestling has had on me are the female athletes that wrestle, along with all the support I get from my team, and other competitors. These women showcase athleticism, drive, and advocate for women around the world. This sport has taught me to support not only my team but other teams as well. After I finish high school I would like to pursue my wrestling career at a higher level not only to show my dedication to the sport but to compete with bigger and better female wrestlers. Some goals that I have for myself are to place at state in the boys division, to assist with having female wrestling sanction in the state of Wyoming and to further influence female wrestlers by being a role model and voice for the younger girl wrestlers.
