Eliaz Garcia '22 Recruiting Profile

Hello my name is Eliaz Garcia and I have been an athlete since I was very young, when I was seven I started boxing and now I've been doing so for almost a decade. My brother introduced me to wrestling in Highschool which quickly became a passion of mine, just like my boxing I plan to take wrestling to the Olympic level. If this doesn't show that I'm  a committed person I don't know what does. I am a very self disciplined individual and I always strive for the best. For instance, in my Highschool I try to take the more challenging courses so i can push myself and obtain as much information to prepare for university. My plans are to receive my degree and then serve my country as a fighter pilot in our Airforce and while I'm in the Airforce continue my sports. I have been taking MCJROTC for the past three years and I am currently a staff sergeant although since the corona virus all promotions have been postponed until we return. I am sure though that when I return I will be receiving a promotion since I meet all the criteria projected for the ranks ahead. Not only will my participation in aid me in my future goals but it also develops my character in the present  establishing morals, values, leadership traits, and citizenship. Outside of school I have been volunteering at an animal hospital since the seventh grade, aiding him with surgeries and fulfilling patients needs. Additionally, my wrestling career has been quite successful for the minimal experience that I have. In my freshman year, my first year of wrestling I made it on the varsity team and placed fourth or higher in almost all the tournaments. Then in my sophomore year I placed second in all the tournaments I attended and placed fourth in my section.
