Hello, my name is Jacob Soni, this up coming season will be my third year wrestling. I started wrestling my freshman year of high school and ever since then I fell in love with the sport. I will be the captain of the team this year after only 2 years in the sport, an honor that I am both humbled by and very appreciative of. I earned the Most Improved Wrestler award in both my freshman and sophomore years. In my sophomore season I went farther than any wrestler in my school’s history achieving a win at Masters as a sophomore. I always give my best on the mat and in supporting my team. This year is my best year academically and I believe the lessons I learned on the mat contribute to my current success as a student. The opportunity to continue my wrestling career in college is of great importance to me. I am looking forward to competing at the next level and can’t wait to gain even more experience than I already have, both in the upcoming high school season and in college. I am looking forward to continuing to grow myself as a person more specifically my leadership skills, physical fitness, and grit that wrestling has already helped me grow.
