Dear Coaches:
I'm looking for a college that will allow me to receive an excellent education while participating in college athletics. As a student in Santa Barbara High Schools prestigious MAD Academy I've had to juggle high end academics along with two sports, wrestling and track & field. The MAD Academy is a four year school within a school that takes an integrated curriculum comprised of honors and AP level academic requirements and college classes in graphic design, film, photography, social media & web design. This real world experience will helpme with whatever path I choose in college.
With no prior experience I joined the wrestling team as a freshman. By Junior year I was a co-captain of the team and helped to mentor other younger wrestlers as they learned the sport. I was an integral part of the highest finish our team has ever had at our league championships. This year is expected to be the first year Santa Barbara High will be League Champs. I hope we will have the chance but with COVID it does not look promising.
I also enjoy track & field and the throwing events. I was JV league champion as a sophomore and due to COVID did not have a Junior season. My Dad was a 2x All American in D3 at Claremont McKenna College in the hammer throw and 2nd in the Nation his Senior year. He has instilled a love for the throwing events and if an opportunity presented itself to compete in the throwing events I would jump at it.
Thanks for looking this far, let me know if I would be a good fit for your college!!
