Andy Garcia '20 Recruiting Profile

I aspire to not only be the first D1 wrestling All American in my family but I want to become the first D1 National Champion. Additionally, I hope to become the first in my family to receive academic honors. One factor I bring to the table for a team atmosphere, is I prefer to lead by actions and not words. Also, I am very coachable due to my open minded nature. These characteristics are founded in my small town country roots. I was taught at a young age that sports are only a short-term endeavor and a person needs an education to help them succeed in life. Due to this, I fully understand that we are all student athletes, meaning we must prove ourselves in the classroom to prove ourselves on the mat. Keeping this in mind, I hope to study  pre-veterinary science or pre-physical therapy. As I am pursuing my bachelor’s degree, I will dedicate myself to performing well in the classroom. While working towards this goal, I recognize the importance of being a student athlete and the honor and rarity it holds. Therefore, I look forward to hearing from you all.
