I'm Bimael Acevedo and I go to Francis T. Maloney High school. What I enjoy the most in my high school career is Wrestling. Ever since I stepped on the wrestling mat I knew I would love the sport. I never knew I would enjoy it so much. I always thought it would be something I would try and not finish throughout the year. Instead I have been wrestling all four years of my high school career. Wrestling is a challenging but also an exciting sport. The coaches push you to work hard and at the end it is worth it even when you lose. I know for a fact that losing can only make you better and stronger. Wrestling has taught me how to be a man on the mat and the real world. I would recommend wrestling to everyone interested in doing a sport. Wrestling changed my life and for that I am thankful.
I have wrestled in the conference tournament and almost place as a sophomore. I wrestled as a senior and I am working on my way up to succeed for a heavyweight placement. I have won a 3rd place Plainville tournament and wrestled in the semi finals to win the 1st place but got injured during the match and lost. I didn’t forfeit the match I continued to wrestle and lost with somewhat pride. So instead I continued to wrestle for 3rd place. I knew I had to wrestle a few more matches instead of going straight to finals. So I sucked it up and continued to wrestle even with the painful injury. It was worth it at the end because I know I didn't show any signs of quitting and I didn’t want of people remembering me as a quitter.
