As far as achievements in my wrestling career go, I was merely a single point away from the Florida state tournament as a sophomore, and I believe that with training this summer I can win the state tournament next year. Wrestling and physical training has also made me realize that I very much enjoy a challenge and seeing improvement as a whole. This is what aspired me to a future in collegiate sports (and what makes me enjoy wrestling as a whole.) I hope to see myself as a member of the starting lineup and to find my way to the NCAA championships. I also hope to wrestle on the Olympic team because I enjoy freestyle as well. Through wrestling I also was able to find leadership in the form of being a team captain and mentoring younger wrestlers in a youth development camp that I train at over the summer. I look forward to spending my community service hours this summer coaching and helping people improve at wrestling.
In addition, I would prosper in college because I have stellar academics and I have a work ethic I believe can give me the best shot in college. I scored a 1250 on the PSAT, landed in the top 95th percentile and I have above a weighted 4.0 GPA in honors classes. Academically, I excel in math and science classes that I feel contributes highly to a college path. I would be ecstatic to continue my wrestling career and education in college because I feel that the opportunity that they hold for me as a student athlete would be a large improvement to my skills. I have researched engineering programs and I think that those courses would be a great fit for my work ethic and for engineering and math related studies, so any of those majors would be a great fit for my future.
