My goal is to be the very best I can be, and then become better. I refuse to settle for anything less on the mat or in the classroom. I am a well-rounded student-athlete and balance a rigorous course load of all AP or dual enrollment classes with wrestling, as well as other extracurriculars.
Academically, I have taken some of the hardest classes offered in the school. My junior year, I took all AP classes and my senior year, I took all AP classes except for English, US Government, and Macroeconomics for which I dual enrolled at the community college. I was previously part of the IB program, but left it because I felt I was not learning and absorbing information, but rather simply memorizing without actually applying or understanding it. I want to expand my knowledge and challenge myself to grow mentally. I plan on studying either business or economics, based on the college I attend and eventually go to law school.
Athletically, I have grown up playing sports. From Cuong Nhu and tennis to soccer and finally wrestling, I have always been active. I only started wrestling my junior year of high school, but feel incredibly attached to it. I love the grind and the constant battle, both mental and physical. I chase the high at the end of a hard win. I want to continue that hunt into college and continue to wrestle, hopefully solidifying myself as one of the best in the sport. Eventually, I want to win international awards for wrestling and transition into MMA.
I am not one to brag about myself, but I am very hardworking and once I have a goal, I do not stop till I reach it. I put in the extra hours while everyone else is still sleeping. I do the extra reps while others are partying. I work while they are relaxing. I want to be great and I am willing to do whatever it takes to get there. I do not want to take the easy route. I want to push myself to the limit in everything I do and strive to be great. I want to go to bed I did everything I could to achieve that, and I hope I earn the opportunity to do so in college.
