I began wrestling in the 8th grade and immediately fell in love with the sport. I like that it is an individual sport and that I am in control of my success on the mat. If I win or lose, it's because of my performance on the mat. No one else to thank or blame. I was moved up to the Varsity squad my 8th grade year and finished as the Region Champ and got 3rd place at State. My freshman year I had an injury and didn't get to wrestle as much. I finished as the Region Runner-Up and was knocked out of the State meet with a concussion. I worked hard between my freshman and sophmore years to go after my goals of winning Region and State. I accomplished those goals and was undefeated my sophomore year. I also play football, golf, and run track. Track would be my next favorite sport. I was State Runner-up in the pole vault my freshman year and was Region champ in the 400 meter and 400 meter relay my sophomore year. My 400 meter relay team set a school time record my sophomore year. My goals for my junior year are to repeat as Region and State Champ in wrestling and set the 400 meter school and State records. I believe in working hard for what you want and I have a 3.6+ GPA in the classroom. I also volunteer at school and in the community 25+ hours a year. Wrestling in college would be a dream come true for me. I want to show kids that being small in stature doesn't mean you can't be successful in sports and continue at the next level.
