My love for the sport of wrestling started when I was 5 years old. I received a flyer about a wrestling club and my Dad told me all the fun he had wrestling when he was younger and that I should give it a try. My Dad was one of my coaches throughout most of my kids club wrestling years and taught me a lot about working hard and never giving up. My love for the sport and desire to improve as a wrestler has grown over the years. I have had to overcome the obstacle of being an “OK” wrestler in middle school and needed a bit of work in neutral. But my mentality switched when I entered high school and I learned to practice hard until I could do better than before. I know the importance of working hard and accepting new thoughts and ideas from my teammates and coaches to help me become a better wrestler. Currently, my high school wrestling stats are: I have achieved 110 wins, I am a 3 time state qualifier and I am 38 and 11 this season being 100% bonus points. My wrestling goal for my senior year in high school is to achieve the top of the career record boards in our wrestling room and place at states next year.
My academic goals for high school are to graduate with high honors (above 3.7) and take as many classes as I can that will better prepare me for college. I was inducted into the National Honor Society this year. I plan to attend a college/university where I can get a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. I possess several traits that I feel makes me a great overall wrestler and student. First, I am hardworking, studious, and athletic. I give 100% in my academics as well as athletics. I strive to be a straight A student in the classroom and the best wrestler on the mat. Second, I am a leader and an encourager to others. It is important to me to help and support those who need it whether it be in the classroom or on the mat. Lastly, I can balance athletics and academics very well. I work hard to maintain good grades and perform at the varsity level, which I have been able to do all through high school thus far. My ultimate goal is to find a college/university where I can make a positive impact on their wrestling team and earn a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
