My journey to success varies greatly from most elite athletes. As I youth wrestler, I got beat up at every weekend tournament in just about every high school gym in the state. I struggled to keep my record above .500 and lacked the strength, speed, and toughness necessary to be a top-level competitor. But I never once complained about going to practice, and I always gave my full effort at each one, and slowly but surely, better results came. I was passing up kids that used to beat me and closing the gap on the top competition. I've come a long way since I first put on wrestling shoes, but I believe there is still much more to come in my wrestling career, and I don't intend on stopping until my final goals are reached.
The best piece of advice I've received in my life is as follows: "Act the way you want to become, become the way you act." This is the motto I live by in all walks of life. You are what you consistently do, and I consistently do all the right things on and off the wrestling mat in hopes to become an elite-level wrestler and a man of integrity, honesty, and discipline.
