One of my greatest motivators and a huge character builder was not qualifying for our state tournament last year after placing second the year before. I knew I had a stacked district with the top three ranked guys (including myself) all in the same district. I could have chosen to bump up a weight to qualify but I chose to stay and battle it out. I lost in a wrestle back 4-2 (to a wrestler who I had split with earlier in the season) and my dreams were shattered. I dug deep, held my head up and moved on. I attended the state tournament as a warm up partner for a teammate and other buddies. As for the two that came out of my district, they met in finals again. I have my senior year next school year and I will be working hard year-round to get back to the top of the podium at the Iowa state tournament. A future goal of mine is to become an All American in college wrestling. I am a hard worker, highly coach-able and have strong academics. I am passionate about wrestling, enjoy grueling workouts and pushing my body to it's limits. I also love the brotherhood bond that comes with the wrestling community.
