I love to wrestle. Wrestling is my passion ever since I first stepped on the mat in 8th grade. I started out my wrestling career as a 5’6 265 pound kid who was super unathletic. Wrestling season came along freshman year and I really wanted to be good at it I was tired of always getting pinned in 10 seconds so I decided to better myself and workout for the love of the sport. With the passion and love for the sport and my coaches and teammates I achieved my goals of becoming an athlete who was actually proud of himself because I ended up going from 265 pounds all the way to 172 pounds in just two months. Intense practices and workouts along with a good diet made me the athlete that I am today and I owe it all to my coaches and teammates. As Sophomore year started I decided to wrestle 160 pound weight class and and did surprisingly okay at it I ended up taking 4th in the region and made it to the state tournament but ended up getting beat out the first day. The losses I took at the state tournament made me open my eyes that this sport isn’t easy, only the strong survive. So I dedicated my summer of junior year to working out and it paid off extremely well. Junior year started and wrestling season was here and I was super excited. Junior year was my best year of wrestling by far. I started the season out wrestling 170 and it wasn’t easy so I decided to cut from 173 all the way to 160 every week just because I wanted to win for the rest of season. I placed top three in every regular season of the tournament at 160 pounds and needed up pinning my way through the finals and winning my region. State tournament came around and I ended up pinning my opponent the first round but ended up taking two heart breaking loses to get beat out of the tournament. I’m currently working out and running as much as I can so I can win the state tournament this year because of how much I love this sport. It has truly devolved a spot in my heart for being the best thing ever.
