My name is Landon Royer. I am a Senior at DeQuincy High School where I will graduate in May of 2021. I’m 5’9” wrestling at 170lbs. I enjoy sports, working out and being with my family and friends.
I have played football most of life, but recently found the sport of Wrestling 2 1/2 years ago. Finding wrestling has allowed me the freedom to develop myself on a new personal athletic level like never before. I live in a small town that currently does not offer Wrestling as a Sports option. However, I was lucky to find a school within my parish that allowed me to join their wrestling program. I travel 30 minutes to this school for practice each day. They have all accepted me as a member of their TEAM. Although I train with them at their school, I still represent my own school as the only DeQuincy Tiger Wrestler. I learn and train with the Coaches as I’m welcomed as a Team Mate by everyone there. Being in the mat room training with my team mates everyday has helped me strive to become a better athlete as well as a better me all around. I’ve learned the importance of dedication, working hard and staying humble all while maintaining a strong level of confidence in myself.
My goal is to be able to continue wrestling in college. I would like to find a college that will allow me the opportunity to help me grow in wrestling as I continue learning as well as give me a great path for building a career for my future.
