Trying to take care of my mom and paying forward the investment that she has put into me through paying for seminars, driving for hours to get me to meets and waking up at 4 in the morning to get me to practices is what motivates me. I’ve been in martial arts my whole life and grappled as long as I can remember, but my school is the first real wrestling program we have had anywhere near our area, so we are a first year team. Going to tournaments and competing with kids who have wrestling there whole lives when most of my experience comes from Jiu-Jitsu has taught me that i won’t accept any less than being the best I possibly can, no matter the circumstances.
My academic goals are to finish high school with at least a 4.0 GPA and bring my ACT Score up to at least a 26. I have overcome my whole life by sometimes not knowing if we would still have a home or have any money. But this taught me to never get comfortable and strive to be better than my situation.
