Ever since I began wrestling, I have had a tenacious desire to wrestle at the collegiate level. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity that I feel I must take. I could be an excellent asset to any team; I have perseverance, commitment, and dedication. I have goals of being a collegiate wrestling and becoming a four-time All-American. I would love to wrestle in college and it's one of many goals that I have while I am in college. I also have goals of receiving my bachelors in either Biology or BioChemistry. I am a great candidate for any team not only for my athletic ability but also my academics. I am taking college courses throughout high school to achieve my associates while I am in high school. I have impeccable integrity and I do not have any disciplinary issues on my file. I work hard to be a student-athlete of good integrity. Not many recruits are working towards his or her academic success as hard as I am; I am one of few student-athletes that will obtain their Associates of Arts Degree while in high school. I am also one of the very few student-athletes without any disciplinary issues. While I wrestle in college, I will have complete and undivided attention towards obtaining my degree and participating in the sport that I hold close to my heart, wrestling.
I am one of the hardest working recruits you will find; I put in not only many hours during just practicing every week, but also running and lifting to maintain my physique and weight. I am willing to do anything and everything in my power in order to achieve my goals, which are set high. I strive towards excellence in everything I do. You will not come across many recruits that are as dedicated as I am. After my disappointing freshman season, I vowed that I would not feel the same way as I did after the match ever again. Immediately after state, I began my off-season training my running and lifting and going to high profile wrestling camps. My season improved dramatically as I went from a 33-14 record to a 30-4 record my sophomore season. As of my junior year, I won the MSHSSA state championships, placed 9th at the KC Stampede while finishing the year with a 36-6 record.
When I am in the classroom, I continue to strive towards excellence as I maintain a high GPA despite taking difficult college courses. I have a college GPA of 3.84. I appreciate the importance of trying in my classes because I want to find success in my future career. When I am on the mat, I push my teammates to strive towards excellence. I would define myself as a team leader; I expect the best from my teammates and I hold them accountable. Thus, if their mindset slips, I will let them know. In addition, I offer ideas to fix their problems on or off of the mat. I find ways to motivate every teammate despite his or her athletic ability.
I believe I would be an excellent asset to your team as I am hard working, dedicated, humble yet confident student-athlete. I want to find the right college for me that will push me on and off the mat to be the man that I should be. I am a man of God, so I am looking for a college experience that will aid in my relationship to God. I desire a college that will push me as a student as well as an athlete.
