When I was 10, I told my parents I wanted to wrestle. They then broke the news to me that this was not the wrestling with steel chairs and ladders. I then forgot about it until freshman year when one of the coaches told me I should go out for wrestling. I did, and my life was changed for ever. I learned how to push myself to the breaking point and take risks.
My freshman year was pitiful to say the best, going 9-10 on the freshman team, but my losses made me love the sport even more. The highlight of my career so far came when I placed 4th at preseason nationals. I was happy, but not satisfied. I made the varsity team and took a number of losses sophomore year, but provided a key win to solidify our 2nd place at districts. I am now a year round wrestler in the hopes to make it, place, and ultimately win state and go to college to further my wrestling and academic career.
I have a love for this sport that no one can beat and I will do anything in order to reach my goals.
