My name is Karter Brink. I started wrestling at age 4. I just finished my 3rd year wrestling the 120lb weight class for Monett High School. I currently possess 147 wins and 16 losses on my high school career. I placed 3rd my freshman year, and state champion my sophomore and junior year. I recently went undefeated wrestling 120lb for Missouri's selected Battle of The Bad team where I competed against AR, OK, and KS state champions. I was also nominated most Outstanding Wrestler on our state champion team, and have been selected 1 of 5 finalists by the Springfield Sports Commission for SW MO. The winner will be selected by Missouri Sports Hall of Fame and announced June 11th.
I am currently 5'6" 138 lbs. I am a three sport athlete (thus gaining as much weight as I can in the off season). I have been our Varsity Class 4 starting QB since my sophomore year. I was awarded All District QB my junior year. I am also starting short stop and a pitcher for our state ranked varsity baseball team. I started 2nd base as a freshman and as a sophomore, switching to short stop my junior year. I am currently holding a 1.23 ERA while pitching (84 mph fast ball), and batting lead off with a .469 avg.
I currently hold a 3.3 GPA
I am very competitive, and take pride in succeeding with any challenge presented. I don't let challenges bring me down. I lost my mother suddenly to cancer at age 11. I can't possibly express in words the challenges I faced. I quit all sports for a while. With help, I learned to channel my anxiety and sadness into a motivational way. At age 12, I pitched a no hitter in the state championship game. It was an emotional turning point for me - a new beginning. I've worked hard at everything I do since. My mother loved to watch me compete, and I know I still make my mother proud in the heavens, and look forward in continuing to make her proud. I now have the strength and perseverance to motivate others, and lead with tenacity. I know if you give me the opportunity, I will make you proud as well.
