Making it to the Missouri state wrestling championship tournament three years in a row has been the highlight of my highschool career so far. However, i feel I have grown the most as a student athlete my junior year after not placing any of the three years at state. That experience has helped me grow as a person and lead me to refocus my efforts on becoming a solid wrestler. I am encouraged then to work on escaping off bottom and setting up better shorts. I am working hard to build into a solid wrestled to be at the college level.
I am fortunate enough to have had amazing teammates helping me make it to state each year. I have come to learn each of the last three years the value of leadership, teamwork, sacrifice and communication from not fully accomplishing my goals at state. I am looking forward to joining the athletic leadership council this coming fall, to continue to learn, improve and grow these characteristics, so I can be best prepareds to bring them to a new team.
