When asked two years ago what sport I would play in college, I would have immediately responded volleyball. As a little girl, I grew up playing volleyball and I fell in love with the sport. As a three-sport athlete, I was frequently asked this question “What sport do you want to play in college”. Normally I would say the sport I was playing during that time of year. I made the decision to take a risk in March of last year. Even though I had no idea what a javelin looked like, I felt compelled to try one out. I discovered a new love and realized right away that I was about to go on an adventure. I had no idea that same year, I would place in the top 5 at the state meet. I tried to do more this upcoming year by working on the tiny things nearly every day over the summer while still taking lessons and lifting weights. Even with everyday practice, I somehow made time for schoolwork and preparing for upcoming quizzes and tests. Finding time for school as a three-sport athlete can be challenging, but for me, it's worth it. I currently have a 3.8 Weighted GPA with all of the extracurriculars I have participated in while still in high school. I want to keep improving as a student and an athlete.
