Dear future Coach(es) my name is Jerry Gaylor. I'm a senior at Central High in Springfield, Missouri. I wasn't a wrestler in the beginning but through persistent work of now close friends and Coach Brian Pyck I found this amazing sport. Sophomore year was my first year and I did not find to much success early on I was junior varsity to a friend of Liam Sheilds. As luck would turn out he was sick for the Kenlock Classic tournament and I found myself wrestling varsity. In the tournament I took 8th place out of 15 and these were some of my very first varsity wins. Coming into junior year I had worked all summer on technique with our Assistant Coach Jake Fisher he really honed my timing and top game. With the work of Coach Jake I saw a lot of success taking 3rd last year in our border duels tournament. I was having a lot of key moments but I was taken out of a lot of several key tournaments, such as conference, lyidas lights, and almost districts with a ruptured eardrum. I wasnt able to wrestle for 3 weeks but I was released to wrestle on the day of districts. Coming back from the injury really put mat rust on and I didn't quite place where I would have liked and didn't qualify for state. This is just driving me harder for my senior year and I'm excited to work with you.
