During the winter of 2018, I earned the chance to wrestle in the Region 4 State wrestling tournament and began to wrestle in the pre-quarterfinal bout. I won the hard fought match, however had to be pulled out of the tournament due to back complications. Since then I have been more determined than ever to get on the mat and earn what was stolen from me. I've been wrestling since sixth grade, and I've enjoyed every second of it, and I believe I'd enjoy it even more in the intercollegiate level. I always strive to set the tone in practice, whether its on the wrestling mat or on the football field, because a hard work ethic and the ability to preserver can bring a team a long way. A successful team needs an unrelenting leader, and I believe I am able to do such things, as I believe in helping others reach their goals as I reach mine. I ended my season with a 36-3 record, which felt rather bittersweet as I believe I should have ended my season on the State Championship podium.
