Wrestling at the collegiate level has always been a goal of mine. Since I was a small child I´ve had an excess of energy and yearn for activity. I grew up wanting to be the wrestler action figures I played with and watching those around me enjoy combat sports. Around age 7, when I could finally commit my time to a sport, I chose to train in MMA, eventually earning a purple belt before leaving at age 13. The moment I came into high school I focused on weight training and conditioning for a place on the wrestling team, while balancing my position on the Robotics and indoor track team. In addition to collegiate wrestling as a goal, achieving academic success is very important to me as well. I have a strong passion for the STEM fields and want to attend a college where I can push myself in the classroom. In my first year of high school wrestling I managed to be elected to the varsity level halfway through the season, providing me with some varsity experience for the next year. Over the summer I trained day and night several times a day to gain mass and speed in the gym, taking me from the 145lb weight class to the 160lb weight class by the beginning of the new school year. Once I have a goal in mind, it stays there. I never give up on myself and I've trained myself to feel unsatisfied and incomplete in the instance I do feel like giving up. I despise excuses and have faith I could achieve anything if I genuinely want it because at that point my wants become needs. I have quality leadership and communication skills, thus my training of several wrestlers along with myself in the past. I look forward to learning more and being a part of an environment with a similar mindset when I choose my college.
