Timothy Lopez '20 Recruiting Profile

Dear Prospective Coach,

My name is Timothy Lopez. I am a 5’ 8”, 126 lb. wrestler. During my High School Career, I was blessed to start on JV and float on and off varsity during my freshman year. It was a great learning period to fully prepare me for the varsity level. The following year is where my career really started. During sophomore year as a 106 lb. wrestler, I dominated my competition pinning everyone in my state bracket within two periods. I went on to win the 2018 State Championship which was not my last. I moved up a weight class to 113 lb. my junior year. During my junior season, I placed 5th place at the Geary Invitational and I finished my 2019 season placing second at state. This last year as a senior, I dominated my competition again. I finished my 2020 season winning my second state title at the 126 lb. weight class. I finished with an undefeated record in my state. During the state tournament, I only allowed 3 points to be scored on me. I was also recently awarded athlete of the week by my school district.

My main attributes are my work ethic, strength, strong mindset, and desire to win. I am also very talented in the classroom. I currently hold a  cumulative GPA of 3.14. I love the sport of wrestling with all my heart. I have been wrestling since I was five years old and there is nothing that I am better at than wrestling. I have never given up and quit, and I don’t plan on doing so anytime soon. I know I will make a good addition to the right school’s wrestling program and overall community. My ultimate goal is to find a school where I can complete my bachelor’s degree in nursing and contribute to the wrestling program.
