I have been on the wrestling mat since I was 8 years old. Before my first match was over I knew I wanted to wrestle at the collegiate level. I played other sports and continued them into my high school career, however nothing had me captivated the way wrestling did. I learned at a young age what my strengths and weaknesses were on and off the mat and decided I wasn't going to make excuses for myself, but work hard to become the best wrestler, athlete, and student I could be. On the mat I am mentally tough, driven and have quick footwork. I have been told to always remain coachable so I have. When I walk out onto that mat I am there to work hard, stay mentally tough, and win.
Off the mat I take multiple Honors and AP classes, to maintain my 3.85 GPA I have had to study hard, put in long hours and sometimes say no to going out with friends. In my spare time I volunteer coach for our youth Mat Club, and also on the holidays go and feed the homeless at our local shelters.
Ultimately I want to attend a college where I can push myself not only on the mat, but in the classroom as well. Although I do have a handful of college favorites I am open to many options and want to find the right college match for me at the highest level of competition possible. I want to become a great role model to my peers, make my parents proud, and also make myself proud!
