Good Afternoon,
My name is Taylor Hebenstreit a.k.a shorty and I live in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. I have decided recently to solely dedicate myself to wrestling for The Carlisle Thundering Herd. I was a multi-sport athlete participating in football, basketball, and lacrosse. As my nickname proceeds me, I am not exactly the tallest guy on the mat (or field), but it has always been this way. All my life I have been told, "You're too short, You'll never be good enough”, always doubting me because of my size, until I prove them wrong! I've shown people many times throughout the years that dynamite truly does come in small packages. I have heard from coaches, and I’m proud to stand by this quote, that I am the "One with the Golden Heart". Because I want to be great, I will be great. My dedication on and off the mat showcases my demeanor and dedication. This is what makes me different and helps me stand out. This year as a junior, I wrestled 106 and I have decided I will dedicate myself to just wrestling and have been working twice as hard. I have been very successful on my feet as well as riding on top with my take-downs and tilts. I also had many milestones achieved during my sophomore season, of which I am proud of. I placed 6th at Eastern Nationals and was an All-American. I also participated in the Disney Duals, placing 8th as a team and a two time All-American individually. This past season I had placed 3rd at sectionals also becoming a district qualifier. I came up short this season and this makes me really motivated to not only make it to states but to place at states as well for my senior year. There is more to come in the future and I will continue to keep working hard to become the best.
