I started wrestling late. When I was around twelve years old, I decided to wrestle and fell in love with the sport. I knew this was a sport in which I could excel. It was a sport where I felt a lot of emotion towards it and others such as football and baseball. It became a big part of me. As I got better, that inspired me to work even harder. Spending time practicing with teammates, logging hours in the gym, and learning from my mistakes from previous matches allows me to continue to grow and improve my technique in wrestling and in other areas of my life. Wrestling has taught me how hard work, dedication, and perseverance will overcome difficulties on the mat, in school, and in life. I am proud that I made it to PJW States in my second year wrestling in 8th grade. Currently during my sophomore year I have maintained a full class schedule by taking 2 elective classes and having have a GPA of 91.6. A couple of my academic goals are to get my GPA up to a 95 or higher and to have better time management when it comes to doing homework and classwork. I will be an asset to a college wrestling program because I don’t stall, and I'm always on the attack looking for the next points. And when I lose, I rarely give up bonus points. These things will tremendously help me in a college wrestling program. My hopes are to find a college that is right for me where I can wrestle while I start my undergrad education.
