Personal Statement

Beginning from when I was a small child, sports and hardships has played a major role in my life. From my family and first years in sports I was taught that overcoming difficulties was just a part of life. I learned this most when I had to fight for my life in the fourth grade when I contracted a staph infection in one of my lower disks of my lumbar spine. After not being able to walk correctly or live without pain for almost three years I learned the true meaning of overcoming hardship, after this I developed the mentality that "There is noting that life can throw that the Lord and I can't overcome". My introduction into the life of sports practically began the day after I was born, being that my father was a semi pro runner & soccer player, I wouldn't be surprised if there is some video of him making me do sprints up and down the labor delivery hall way.  Though he wanted me to play soccer, I started doing karate when I was three years old. From Karate, I jumped around different styles and schools ranging from Tae kwon do and Jujitsu when I was younger to boxing and MMA throughout middle school; as we being a strong football player and field discus thrower for my school, all the way up to my sophomore year of high school. My wrestling career did not begin until my freshman year right after football season. From the beginning, I fell in love with how the sport was more difficult than any other sport I'd been in prier, the emphasis on technique and physical demand wrestling called for made me hungry to learn and work on the in and outs of the sport. I forced the then, four-year varsity 197 captain to practice and train me to the point where me and him were competing for the full-time varsity 197 position my freshman year. I was getting ready to go into the varsity district tournament when I had to cut my freshman season short because of an interior labrum slab tear in my left shoulder. The frustration I felt only made me hungrier for training. sophomore year I started on full time varsity, training day & night to end up third in my district and leave the season 1-2 at regional's, with a season record of 32-12. Now going into my junior year, I will only be doing wrestling. I've made it my goal to take districts and regional's and make a good fight at state this 2019 season. Through my wrestling career I've learned that I will have my off days and setbacks but know that they only make me stronger and show what I'm truly made of.

Academically I plan to stay on an A-B record and continue on my path to study business at a credited school where I will specify on the marketing and investment side of business. I stay realistic with my goals but never fail to make them something I have to work for.  In the end noting worthwhile is easy to obtain, through all my life I've gained an unbreakable determination and stubborn attitude to anything that comes my way with this and leadership I bring to my team and life around me great things are not far in sight.

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
