Baseball is more than a game for me. It's a passion, a love. Some athletes may like the sport they play, but I have a true appreciation for the game of baseball...I can never get enough of it. I miss baseball so much that I watch spring training games of every team playing that day, even if they aren't my team.
I first started playing baseball when I was 7 years old and the first thing that stood out to me was the connections made between teammates and how much that can impact the game. I quickly learned that one player can only take a team so far, but that every player needs to be willing to work hard and be on the same page for the team to succeed and that shows how far away baseball is from being an individual sport.
Now that I'm in high school, I not only have aspirations on the field, but off the field as well. I want to achieve a cumulative GPA of 4.0 by the time I am out of high school. If I am able to work that hard in the class, that is proof to me that I am able to work just as hard on the diamond. That's why when I am looking for college options, I am not only looking for a school with a competitive baseball program, but a school that will push me the extra mile in the classroom. I believe with my experience in both baseball and basketball, I have learned enough about leadership, teamwork, and sacrifice to be able to help any college team that I am a part of become a winning and unstoppable program.
