My name is Laurel Moody, I currently play for Breakers/Labs 14U Blue, a club team in Southern California. I am 5’ 8” and my best strengths as catcher are framing and throw downs to second. Why do I love the game of softball? Competition, competition, competition. Playing collegiate level softball would mean that I have reached an elite level of competitive softball. Having the chance to play at such an elite level of softball would validate my years hard work. Also, with a elite level of softball comes a high level of competition. The high levels of competition push me to improve and better my skills.
If I were asked what other people think about me, I believe most people would describe me as positive, hardworking, and helpful. Spending most of my time studying and playing softball, pegs me as hardworking and dedicated. When any of my friends or family ask for help with their homework I always offer to help. If I asked my softball teammates how they would describe me, they would say that I am fun to be around but when the competition begins I am focused and down to business.
While playing collegiate softball, I would enjoy participating in a competitive program with a competitive coach. Playing for a coach who will push me to become a better softball player and all around person would be ideal. Wherever I play, I would like to compete alongside a team full of hard working and motivating girls. All in all, I want to play for a competitive program with a great coach and teammates.
