My name is Preston Taylor Dorand. I was born on August 23, 2004 in Mission Viejo, California. I currently am a Senior at Santa Margarita Catholic High School.
I am the oldest of 3 kids with a younger brother who is 15 and a younger sister who is 10. As far back as I can remember I have had a baseball in my hand when ever I could. My Dad would throw wiffle balls at me as soon as I could hold a bat; or toss a ball to me from across the room. It drove my mom nuts, but it was fun. As I got older, my internal clock was set for 6 am. Everyday during baseball season I would wake up and watch MLB Quick Pitch for all the highlights and commentary from the day before. I truly feel that watching baseball made me better and taught me a lot about the game.
School has always been important to me too. Looking ahead to college, I have aspirations of attending a 4 Year State School or University. I have not yet decided on a major, or college location and consider my options open at this point. It would be my goal to play baseball while attending college and working toward my degree.
As a baseball player, I consider myself a team player and more importantly, a team leader. I am always willing to do what it takes to help and improve the team. I have primarily been focusing on left and right field, but I am versatile and capable of playing all positions. I prefer to encourage my team rather than dwell on mistakes. I take that approach with everything I do. Whether it is family -time, school-time or baseball-time, I have a smile on my face at all times. However, when it's time to play ball, the game face goes on!
