Winning the Trinity League Championship last year has been the highlight of my High School softball career to this point. However, it was what I learned as a member of a 10U recreational softball team that laid the foundation for me being an outstanding student-athlete and even better teammate.
Shortly after moving to Southern California from St. Louis at 8 years old, while playing with the neighbor’s dog, I fell and broke my arm. The timing was unfortunate as I had just joined a 10U softball team. It was supposed be an opportunity to meet friends after the move while playing the game I loved. Everyone assumed I would not participate in that season. Instead, I did not miss a practice or a game, even though I could not play, practice or even participate in a drill. That experience not only validated how much I love the game of softball and push me to work harder athletically and academically, I learned the importance of sacrifice, teamwork, commitment and leadership without striking batters out or hitting home runs.
I have been blessed to be part of PGF national competing travel teams and an elite high school athletic program. I have learned what it takes to compete at a high level, by playing with and against great players. I am looking for a program that fits me athletically as well academically and personally. I believe I not only have the talent to compete at the collegiate level, I have the work-ethic, character and leadership skills to have an immediate impact on your program’s success as well as a lasting impression for years to come.
