Personal Statement

My goals and aspirations as a baseball player have always been the same. My parents are both college athletes, and with my dad being a high school coach, they have both instilled a hard work ethic and passion for sports. With their direction, I have always aspired to work as hard as I can to be the best possible player that I can. It’s a cliché, but I have heard every coach I have ever had and hear my dad tell his team this every year, bring good attitude and effort to each day and good things will happen.  Now that I am in high school, I see that same cliché come into play in the class room. I work hard for my GPA, and bringing that same attitude and effort to the class room helps me achieve my academic goals. School is not as easy for me as baseball, but the things I have learned in sports help me every day in the classroom.

My goal now is to work to play at the next level. Find a school that will fit with life goals of becoming a teacher and coach. To grow as a player, continue learning and working to become the best that I possibly can be. To keep giving my best attitude and effort in the class room to reach my goals. I believe that with what I bring to the game of baseball, I am a great fit for any program. My work ethic, values, spirit, along with my attitude and effort would be a great addition to a collegiate program.

  • Evaluation - Hunter is a vocal leader on the field from his SS position and always finds new ways to improve his game. He shows off some impressive raw power that really shows itself when he is on time with his swing. He shows feel in the box with knowledge of the strike zone and an understanding of his strengths to hunt for a pitch to do damage with. He shows the ability to make consistent contact and can use all fields for base hits. At short, his actions are fluid and his feet and hands work together to show range and center the ball to field. He works around it with presented hands and exchanges cleanly to throw quickly with multiple arm slots. Eliminating the glove pat will allow him to get rid of the ball quicker and make the tough plays look easy. Hunter is a talented player with lots of potential on the field.

  • Evaluation - Hunter worked out at SS during his time in Omaha. He is a hard working, coachable player with a good work ethic. Defensively, Hunter has quick feet, agile movements, and he presents his glove well. He moves well to the ball, makes plays, and has an accurate arm across the diamond. At the plate, Hunter has pop in his bat, he keeps a still head, and his hands are quick. He has good balance and gets solid extension through the ball.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
