Chris Owens '23 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Chris Owens and I am a 2023 LHP that currently attends West Boca High School. I have high interest and am striving to play college baseball at a high level. I plan on playing college baseball for four years and see where I can go afterwards. When I am older, I want to work for the fire department following my dad's footsteps. I am in my school's medical academy and will be EMR certified by my senior year. 

I am a good candidate for your team because I am a very respectful kid and I perform exceptional under large amounts of stress. I am good at balancing school and sports as I have a 3.8 unweighted GPA and a 4.5 weighted GPA. This year I am finishing my AICE diploma and I will have a bright futures scholarship. For the four years I am playing college baseball, I will obtain a business administration degree.

When it comes to baseball, I have been playing my entire life. My fastball currently tops out at 85mph and I am looking to touch 87 during the summer. I throw three pitches for a strike (fastball, breaking ball, and changeup), and I love challenging hitters up and in as I have a high spin rate. I am good to have on the team as I am very vocal and act like a leader. I play with energy and I always have a positive attitude. I do not let the game get in my head, every inning is a new inning.
