Pier Figueroa '23 Recruiting Profile

I'm Pier Figueroa, I am a 2023 graduate  living in Boca Raton, Florida. I was born in Puerto Rico but moved to Florida when I was a baby.   Ever since I was a baby I always had a bat  and a glove in my hands and always wanted to hit.  One of my inspirations was my dad's first cousin Angel Pagan (Chicago Cubs, NY Mets, SF Giants), seeing him play inspired me even more than I already was.  Angel has been closely mentoring and influencing me over the years.    My first relevant tryout was for my middle school baseball team. I was nervous that I wouldn't make the team, especially i was 4'11 and barely 100 pounds. I did my thing and played with heart and mind, passionately and ended up being a three year starter. (2016-2019).  Going into 9th grade I was especially scared and nervous for high school baseball.    I played my first Varsity game in the Fall and showed out. Going into the Spring season it seemed like I was going to be the only freshman starter in the Varisty Team at the school in 2 years. I started in Left Field and hit lead off some games. I hit .348 through 9 games with 9 runs batted in.  

My biggest tool is my speed and aggressive base running. I am not the biggest power hitter but I work daily to get better. Many coaches and friends refer to me as a young Christian Yelich because of my smooth left swing.

My goal after completing high school is to be recruited by a Division 1 University. Ultimately, my goal would be to play baseball for the rest of my life .
