Carter Ruff 6'1" ...Personal Statement
I have been playing baseball for over 13 years and have wonderful memories of winning seasons, base hits, and team mates. I have learned more about myself and the game of baseball when I was struggling at the plate, thinking about an error, or losing a game. Giving 100% every time you walk on the field and playing for your team mates is what wins baseball games. I am looking for a program that values talent and character and would be a good fit for me athletically and academically.
I am a 2-sport Senior letterman at Whitewater High School in Fayetteville, GA who was one of the starting First Base players for the Varsity Team last year and is the starting First Base/Catcher for my travel team. I have played for the high school for 4 years beginning when I was in middle school as the starting catcher for the 9th grade team. I am looking forward to my Seniot year on the Varsity team. I am a dedicated player with a positive attitude who delivers at the plate, behind the plate, and in the field. When I think about my future college years, I want to experience the classroom and baseball to the fullest. My talent, work ethic, and character provide a strong foundation for me to be competitive and to have an impact at the college level.

- 06/02/2019 - College PREP - Waleska (Atlanta), GA Carter is an athletic 1B/C prospect who will graduate in 2020. In the field, Carter shows fluid footwork and flashes good lateral range. He gets into a low position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He makes a clean exchange and keeps his throws accurate and on-line to his target. Behind the plate, Carter shows quick footwork and is agile moving to block. He sits in a low stance and receives with soft hands. He makes a quick exchange and gets rid of the ball quickly, keeping his throws consistently on-line to the 2B bag. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He gets back into his load and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a direct swing with plus bat speed and good extension, leading to consistent contact and gap to gap pop. Overall, Carter is a talented prospect who has the potential to contribute at the next level.
