Playing baseball in college has been my dream since I was eight years old. My love, passion, and respect for the game grows stronger and stronger each time I step foot onto the field. I am a 6 foot, 190 pound freshman Power Hitter and Catcher in the Class of 2021. I will be batting in the top four in the starting lineup and I am the starting catcher for the 2016 Region Champion Thomasville Bulldogs. I am also playing my third year of travel ball with the East Cobb Astros team based out of Marietta, Georgia. I am currently playing with the 16U Astros team as a 15U player. I strive to be a strong, competitive player and leader both on and off of the field. Given the opportunity, I will make my mark as a strong, competitive player and leader in college as well.
My favorite thing about baseball is hitting the baseball. I am very consistent at the plate. As a strong right-handed power hitter, I am very good in clutch situations. I usually bat third or fourth in the lineup because of my power and my ability to move runners. My second is of course preventing a steal, since my primary position is catcher. I have always been told by my coaches that I have very strong and natural baseball instincts which are very necessary when working behind the plate. My throws are consistently accurate from behind the plate and my average pop time is 1.98. I am complimented regularly on my framing and blocking by my pitchers, my coaches, and even umpires…. believe it or not. But one of the things I like most about catching is the leadership opportunity it provides. I am a strong leader and as catcher, I am constantly able to provide direction through communication and actions at practice and during games. One of my greatest satisfactions as a player is my ability to lead and help my team succeed. In addition to being a catcher, I am also a third baseman. I love the hot corner and my instincts for the game makes it a natural secondary position for me. Most of all, I am will continue to work hard to grow with the game.
Academics are extremely important to me also. Having a sibling that is a D-1 athlete has given me an inside perspective of what it takes to be a college athlete. I currently have a 4.0 GPA and plan to maintain the highest GPA possible throughout High School. It is my goal to be fully prepared academically as well as athletically for my future college career.
